1. How much time does it take to make a Geronimo snowboard? Your Geronimo snowboard is completely shaped by hand.
So totally, the work is about 10 hours before the board is created. |
2. The snowboard looks nice but is it reliable? The boards are built with the best products we can find on the market. Not only on the snowboard market, because we have tested the epoxy used by many other companies, and it did not fulfill our requirements. We have 9 years of active experience in building boards. Not behind the office. Active work, because we do every-thing ourself. Developing and testing is one of our favorite jobs. Specially in the mountains. As far as being reliable, we let the Full Warranty speak for itself. Along with our happy customers that have bought a Geronimo board 3 or 4 years ago that still board with the same snowboard. Some of them have their booard for about 8 years now. |
3. What is the price of your snowboards? The price is according to the size of the board, more or less material, what kind of material is used in the boards, what kind of design on the boards, so is calculated individually. It all depends on what board you want. It is like buying a custom racecar, there are no limits. Allthough we try to keep it reasonable, since we enjoy what we do. |
4. If I make my own design, how would it look like once it's completed? Well, most of the times it looks even better than the original design, because of the effect it makes when it's gone through the epoxy process. It is like the design has a much deeper, much brighter effect in the board especially when it's finished off with the UV protection coating. The colors become deeper, warmer, they come alive. |
5. Why do people buy Geronimo snowboards? Because they want to have a board to enjoy the mountains with, a board that is responsive, stable and light. They do want something different. Also, to be a part of something unique. They want to express their individuality. They want to ride a board with a soul. Just like the custom shaped surfboards. No mass product... |
6. Why are you not in the snowboard magazines (like Onboard, Transworld, etc..)? No money !!! If we would do this, this woud result in higher prices because you will pay the ads..it is all calculated and we do not sell through shops, but to you only. You are our best friend, we make boards for you because if you are happy, you are our best support. That's why, when you are ready for us to make a board for you. |
7. Do you sponsor snowboarders? Very good question. We know snowboarders that are very good, but they work with us. Sponsoring is not a word i like to use...feels cheap and cutting out you. That's something for the big brands. Not for us. We do always find a win-win solution with snowboarders that do something for Geronimo snowboards, no matter how good they are. We stand for you having your own pro-board, and having the board that gives you this feeling. That's why you can put your own design on your board, and that's why it will be custom built for you. Why should we sponsor some kids. They have their so called pro-board, and the most snowboarders will be attracted to buy that board. Our customers do not want to have a board with some guys name on it. They want their own board. They pay their own money for it. We do every-thing to give you and your friends the respect with Geronimo snowboards, the same that those guys get in the multi-big companies. We do it for you. You alone. That's why we ask your feed-back of the boards, we want you to help us to constantly improve the snowboards. Snowboarding is an expression of freedom, a lifestyle. It is not just a sport, it is more then just a sport like soccer or basketball. Being it and enjoying it. That actually is the reason why we started building snowboards. |
8. Do you make only snowboards? YES. YES. YES How can you make the best if you make a little of every-thing. We will not make skateboards, or surfboards, because it takes a lifetime to learn every-thing about one subject. The snowboard subject is way more interesting for me. You can not ride 2 horses at the same time. My personal goal is to make the best boards in the whole world because I want to make your life on the mountain better, easier and more fun...
9. Is there a warranty on Geronimo snowboards? Full warranty. This means, you bust it we replace it. Our expenses. Unless you crash it of course.. Also, we offer not satisfied, money back warranty. This means that if you do not have the satisfaction you want, or the board does not provide you with that great feeling of snowboarding, we will refund 85 % of price you did pay. We do this because our overseas friends do not have the possibility to ride the board before they buy it. We do ask them to explain us the reason, so that we can make it better next time. |
10. Can I buy a snowboard from your web site? Yes, but also here we want to talk to you. It's important to have feed back from, and then if we feel that we like you and you like us, we can make you a Geronimo board. But, please do understand we only have 2 hands to do every thing, and we want to keep it this way. We never want to become a Multinational Corporation. We'll leave that to the big guys. Sometimes we can be backed-up with orders, especially in high the season, fortunately people are willing to wait a couple weeks longer. |
11. Do you organize camps & trips? No, not any-more.We did in the past, made the price really cheap for our customers, because they told us they had no money, but they were spending 3 times more money in the "titty-bar". So, we stopped. |
12. If something happens to my Geronimo snowboard & I live in another country, how can I send the snowboard to you to be repaired? You can send it with UPS, and then we look at the board, take care of it and send it back to you. If it is not that bad, I will personally help you to fix it with my advice. |
13. What is your most aggressive snowboard that you make? Difficult question. We like working with deep side cuts and smaller tails. The most aggressive one was a board with a maple wood core. The wood core was built in a way the torsion stiffness is higher, the wood stronger, because of a special construction method. It is a very nice board to ride, but at the same time very aggressive. Is this an answer to your question? (We do have to tame him a little bit more) before making this board for you out there. It will be a very strong board. Much stronger than other wood cores. |
14 Q. Have you worked with foam or honey comp core? Yes, we have tested it. The material we used was very much respected in the space technology. We did not like it. It broke on us very fast, and we found it to light. Also, it was not very stable. No, we do not feel like working with it. Normally companies that make lighter boards with this kind of materials, they will advice you to use a bigger board. What is then the goal of this? The weight was for a 165 cm, with 30 cm nose 5.3 pounds. This is another thing. Companies say oh, our board is a 154 and the weight is only we do not only look at the length. This is tricky. You have to take the whole surface, length x (times) wideness of the board. Then we can talk again. |
